Mad Science sparks curiosity in students through the power of inquiry-based learning. This approach puts students at the centre of their education, encouraging them to explore, question and discover. Curiosity is a natural driver for learning. When students are curious, they are more likely to ask questions and seek answers. Mad Science does this through hands-on experiments. When students engage directly with materials they can hypothesize and test their ideas. For example, during a chemical reaction experiment they can observe firsthand, how substances interact sparking their curiosity and prompting them to ask more questions. Instructors also play a key role by posing open ended questions that encourage discussion. This invites students to think critically about their observations and share their insights. Furthermore, lessons connect scientific concepts to real world applications making them relevant and exciting.
We also bring our classroom to you! Be it a day care for up to 30 children or an event for over 500 children, Mad Science brings the fun of learning to your location! Our scientists will bring the curiosity out in your children through open ended questions and hands on activities.
Inquiry based learning is also brought to our summer camps. Children take a deep dive into the different sciences with their peers. Each day children will be doing a variety of hands-on science activities to spark their imagination and pique their curiosity. Whether building a robot, model rocket, performing chemical reactions or learning the science behind solving a crime your child will be sure to come home full of new knowledge and skills.
Learning doesn’t stop at the classroom! Even birthdays can be full of learning at our Mad Science Birthday parties. Children learn while having a blast. Every experiment is not only eye catching and exciting, but without realizing it children are also learning science fundamentals along the way. Mad Science offers a variety of topics and options to choose from, everything from a Wizard’s party to making cotton candy in front of your eyes.
At Mad Science we effectively use inquiry-based learning to cultivate a lifelong love for science and exploration. It is our goal to inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators.
