Start a Summer Tradition with the Summer Reading Programs at Your Local Winnipeg Libraries

When my daughter was younger, one of our favorite things to do together in the summer was join the TD Summer Reading Club. We would visit the library, pick out new books, and enjoy quiet moments reading side by side. It was such a fun and easy way to spend time together, and it made reading feel like an adventure we could share.

Looking for fun and free children’s activity for your children to do this summer?

Join the TD Summer Reading Club! It is for children of all interests, ages, and abilities.

Kids Under 12

Visit any Winnipeg Public Library branch to receive a free bilingual reading kit for children up to 12 years old. The kit includes an activity notebook, stickers, and a Reading Tracker. Offered in over 2,000 libraries across Canada, the club is an interactive way to keep kids reading, learning, and having fun all summer.

Teens Age 13-17

Pick up a bilingual Teen Summer Challenge Card at any branch or find it on the Winnipeg Public Library website. For each challenge completed, they will get one ballot to enter a prize draw. There is a huge variety of free programs on offer this summer for children up to 5 years old with a caregiver, school age children (6-12 years), families, and teens (13-17 years).

Check out the online calendar for more information on all summer programs for children, families, and teens. Registration for July programs is open and registration for August programs begins July 7. Visit winnipeg.ca/library for more details.
