A Letter to Adults to be More Active

Have you not got off the couch in two days? Do you want your children to look up to you? Well, you need to be a good role model! Adults should be active because their children will look up to them. An active family leads to having better physical health, has positive impacts on mental health, and did you know your sleep will improve too? Being active is better for your family’s overall well-being!

Can you believe exercise helps with your physical health? A study from the World Health Organization shows if you are active, you will live longer. Your family will age slower, and you will be able to keep running around with your kids. You will get sick less often which means missing less work than staying home with your sick kids. Can you believe if you exercise, your body will have fewer cramps, and your muscles will feel less tight? It has also been proven to lower your blood pressure and heart rate.

Let us not forget exercise improves your mental health. Don’t you want your family’s anxiety to improve, and for you all to feel more relaxed? You will have better emotional well-being. Can you believe your brain will be stronger and you will be able to remember things easier? It will enhance your brain’s ability to adjust quicker and connect to your brain faster. If you are worried about having a mental illness in the future, being active will help!

Research indicates if you are active, you will have better sleep. Experts say that being active tires out your body which will lead to having longer and deeper sleeps. Did you know 67% of active people sleep better than others? When you have a long busy day, you might fall asleep easier.

I strongly believe that being active is better for your well-being, especially adults with children. Kids’ parents are role models for them. If you demonstrate being active, they will grow up to be active adults. If you do not want to worry about your physical health in the future, start exercising. Do not forget you will have better mental health. Do you want to have a better sleep? If you do not want to sit on the couch anymore, take a walk and smell the air!
